Teaching Roles
Practical Introduction to Conservation Retrofit
Instructor, project lead and course developer
Nottingham Energy Partnership & UK Hempcrete
As part of my role as Architectural Lead (NEP) I designed, wrote and delivered our Conservation Retrofit course alongside Alex Sparrow (UK Hempcrete). We successfully delivered it to 32 people in 2023 introducing those working – or aspiring to work – within the growing retrofit industry to the principles and practice underpinning successful retrofit of traditionally constructed buildings.
We reviewed the course after this pilot and NEP continued to work with OCN London and UK Hempcrete to make the course more accessible for future roll out.
Sheffield School of Architecture

I have taught in various roles at the school on the BA Hons Architecture course (RIBA Part1), most notably as a Year 1 Studio Tutor, Year 1 Humanities Lecturer and Year 3 Special Studies Supervisor. I delivered lectures on Disability & Architecture, Lina Bo Bardi’s Glass House and Tropical Modernism.
As a teacher I am interested in encouraging my students to explore intersectional issues surrounding accessibility, climate and community whilst also aiming for an equitable and nurturing studio environment.
